An Alyssa Posey Conversation
I’m sitting here with Adrianna Eves, Penthouse Pet.
Alyssa Posey: September 2023. It’s been a minute! [laughs]
What has been going on with you since we shot you?
Alyssa: Just busy! I have like seven jobs. I know it sounds ridiculous, but living in Vegas, it’s a town of opportunities, especially with modeling or anything of that nature, so, I’m constantly working, which is great. Just built my first house a year and a half ago … so, that’s great. Being a single woman isn’t the easiest thing in the world [laughs], especially nowadays.
Tell me about building your house.
Alyssa: It’s been a process, but not the best process. [laughs] Kind of horrible, but my plan is to build this, kind of fix it up, make it perfect, and then sell it and then do something else.
How big is it?
Alyssa: Like 3,000 square feet?
Oh, that’s big.
Alyssa: It’s decent. In Vegas, it’s a lot cheaper than in California, but things are going up, and up, and up really quick. It’s catching up to Cali. [laughs] It’s scary.
How has it changed out here for you?
Alyssa: It’s ever-changing. I moved here six years ago, so I’m relatively new. I mean it used to just be desert where I was at, and it’s completely different now. New casinos. New neighborhoods. Everything, ever-changing. There’s like four more clubs. It’s almost a little oversaturated, so it’s kind of scary with the industry that I’m in, working for clubs and day clubs, and the modeling industry, but good and bad, right? Pros and cons with everything.
Tell me about working for day clubs. What’s that like? What do you do?
Alyssa: So, I’m a model cocktail server for Tao Group Hospitality. This is going to be my 7th year. I just got through auditions again. I’m a veteran now. It’s very busy, fast-paced, and always fun [laughs].
Tell me what the audition process is like, and why would you have to audition if they used you six years in a row?
Alyssa: I mean it’s cutthroat just like anything else. Remember America’s Next Top Model with Tyra Banks? You walk in, you’re in a bathing suit, but you have photos, your resume, and then there’s just a panel of judges, and they kind of just ask you a couple of simple questions. You already know if they want you or not. It’s like 30 seconds. Very cutthroat and very “Do you look good?” You have to maintain your weight and your looks. We have to sign a contract at the beginning. You can’t gain 10 pounds over the duration of our career within our starting weight.
What?!
Alyssa: [laughs] Doesn’t matter if it’s muscle, you got a boob job. It’s within the contract. I mean, it’s modeling! If you’re going to get upset or mad, you’re in the wrong industry. It’s cutthroat.
But like, I wouldn’t think that in the span of your career, I would think within the span of the season that you work.
Alyssa: That’s what I thought, but it was right when I got hired the first time, and they were like, “Oh, we have to weigh you” and so my friend was like, “wear leather boots and a leather jacket”, which I did [laughs] to like beat it, because that’s an extra couple pounds.
How about Amber Rose with kids and her insane body?
Alyssa: I know! We worked together closely. I work at Marquee. She works at Tao Beach, but I worked there a couple of times. She snapped back like this [snaps finger]. She’s got an eight pack again. [laughs]
Do you feel like a connection with her because you guys are also Penthouse Pet alumni?
Alyssa: I just think she has such a motherly sweet vibe about her that we always have been friends since the minute we met. I’m kind of like cut and dry with people. Either we get along or we don’t, and that’s just who I am as a person. I don’t believe faking energy for the sake of anything. If we don’t get along, I just keep my distance. But she’s always super flowy, easy to talk to, helpful. We talk a lot about life. Everything she’s been going through and same with me…. She’s the sweetest.
How do you handle self-doubt?
Alyssa: I come across as extremely confident, even when I’m not, and people are like, “Oh, you’re insecure?” Every single woman on this planet is insecure. Some are just better at hiding it, and that’s kind of my fuel. I’ll lead headstrong and go into a situation with open arms, as opposed to just hiding in the corner being little. So I’ll just walk up to that group of 20 people I don’t know and start the conversation, even if I do have self-doubt, or I maybe don’t feel the best that day. I mean, am I on my period that day? Did I have a bad morning? Did I fall down the stairs? [laughs] Did I trip over my cat? So, it’s like just move forward. I think that’s helpful for me, especially with the industry I’m in, meeting strangers every single day, especially men. It’s like my favorite thing to one-up a man and big-ball them.
Have you ever had a situation at work where a patron crossed a line?
Alyssa: Absolutely. Especially since I work in a bathing suit, I have men that don’t understand the difference between a strip club and a day club and I’m not against strip clubs by any means, but there’s a fine line babe. I’m serving you drinks and food. I’m not giving you a lap dance, and that’s highly against the rules for casinos in general. Sex work is not legal there. Go somewhere else. I’ll go to the strip club until 6:00 A.M. for my own fun, but you’re not in that place. I’ve had guys try to grab and pull my bikini off, and you can get arrested! If they see that, it’s over! ‘Cause you’re a predator whether you think so or not. It really is that big of a deal. Sexual assault or sexual harassment of any form unwarranted should be punished every single time.
100% … How do you keep yourself in shape?
Alyssa: I do definitely go to the gym a lot [laughs]. And recently, at the beginning of the year, I donated my eggs to a gay couple in California. I was on all these hormones, so I was at the first point in my life where I gained a little bit of weight, and I wasn’t used to it … and I didn’t like it. But I was given body grace. You’re going through all these changes, you’re helping somebody, which I’ve always wanted to do, but I’m like, “Ok, when do I snap back?” How do I figure it out because your hormones when you get older, absolutely terrifying. … So, after that, I got super-serious. I just lost like 15 pounds.
How did you know that you wanted to give your eggs to a gay couple? How did that come about?
Alyssa: I love gay people. [laughs] I worked with this agency. Its top commodity, really pretty girls, girls that don’t have work done to their face. You have to be very honest. They accepted me right away. It was within like a month that I found out someone picked me out. Maybe I looked like what they want their kids to look like. I don’t know. Petite, green eyes, all those things. But yeah, they picked me out, and I didn’t even know that they were a gay couple, but that was my preference, until I was signing the contract, and it said Father 1 and Father 2, and then I was like, “Oh my God!” [laughs]
And then how many eggs did they get?
Alyssa: They got a lot … I’m super fertile. [laughs] Aggressively. That’s why I wanted to do it. They got like 78.
Do you sign a contract with no contact? I think some do that and some don’t.
Alyssa: So, they asked me, if and when the child reaches 18, would I like if they contact me, and I said, “Yeah, of course.”
Oh my God, can you imagine being this hot kid that’s 18 and they want to see their birth mother, and it’s you?
Alyssa: Yeah, I hope that they do. I would say 90% probably do, right? Cause obviously, they got the eggs from somewhere.
Of course. What creative outlets do you turn to outside of work?
Alyssa: I don’t know if it would be creative, but the gym… Any type of new workout, I find such an adrenaline rush. Just because endorphins are absolutely incredible and it’s better than any drug ever. So, any new workout, and I think that being fit is super in style right now. Like, the Pilates, all the new Lagree, all the little centers for all that. So, I think that’s, honestly, my version for a creative outlet. Also, in clothing. I absolutely love clothing. I’m a little style icon. But those are my two, for sure.
How do you unwind? ‘Cause you said that you do seven jobs.
Alyssa: A nice espresso martini with tequila in it. That’s what really gets me going. Everytime [laughs].
Penthouse: [laughs]
Alyssa: 1 … or 7 [laughs].
I love that. But I mean, do you like reading? Do you like taking a walk? I mean, I don’t know how many places you can really walk around here…. It seems very stimulating.
Alyssa: Unfortunately, living in Vegas, the martini is more easily accessible than the nature walk. If I lived in, like Oregon, or the coast, I think I would do that more, but the desert isn’t so appealing. When I get the chance, I like to go to California. I love older movies. I’m a huge horror fan, which we’ve discussed before. I definitely unwind to some 80’s slasher films. I’ve always wanted to be a Scream Queen.
Do you have a bucket list of things that you haven’t achieved yet that you’re really wanting to?
Alyssa: I mean I think everybody does. Have I sat down and actually made a list? In my head, yes. Paper? No. Probably should. Definitely want to travel, do a huge Euro trip. I’m really into history, so I want to go see some of the most old, beautiful architecture I can. And then I would love to be a Scream Queen. Those two things are definitely the top of my list.
Is there a habit that you’re currently trying to break?
Alyssa: Staying out till 6:00 AM.
Oh shit. But that’s work!
Alyssa: No, but even when I’m not, I just like, “Oh you know …” ‘cause it’s late nights, right? So, you kind of get into the habit of let me go have a drink after living in the city where it never sleeps. I like to let loose a little bit. I keep telling myself maybe not so much, but then it happens again. It’s 50/50, my lifestyle. I’m so healthy, but then I’ll go have fun. While I’m young, right?
What’s your favorite place to go let loose till 6:00 AM?
Alyssa: I love the art district here, so it’s a little off the beaten path, but super funky and lounges, bars, witchy bars, and stuff like that. A little more and a little different and obviously not as expensive as going to the casino and getting a $40 martini. [laughs]
So, it’s more like a local joint.
Alyssa: Definitely. Artsy, women-owned places, not huge corporations, which I love, small businesses. It’s kind of turning into like little Melrose, with all the thrift stores, and very artsy. It’s definitely something to look at.
What’s been bringing you the most joy lately?
Alyssa: Helping out with animals. There’s been a huge animal crisis in Vegas, and my friend does a lot of pop-ups and donations. There’s been a lot of animal cruelty cases in Vegas too …it’s so crazy. They’ve been passing laws to help, so that shit doesn’t happen…. Finding dogs in dumpsters, and I’m like, “What the fuck is wrong with you people?!” So, I’ve definitely been helping her do a little bit of that, which I definitely find joy in and would like to do more. I’m getting the word out and just doing those things. I love animals, so … huge, huge into that.
How would you describe this current chapter of your life?
Alyssa: Wanderlust. Just kind of all over the place. Not sure of my next direction, just kind of down for whatever, keeping my mind open and my options open to see what’s next. Living here, you never know what’s going to happen or what’s happening next.
True enough. When you look back on your Penthouse experience, what stands out the most to you?
Alyssa: How brave I was to get into something like that when I’ve never done it before… And keeping such an open mind and being positive and honestly feeling better within my own skin and stronger as a woman. Because, it is an experience, right? Taking direction, not knowing what to do, but still acting as confident as you possibly can.
And then putting trust in a group of people you do not know.
Alyssa: Yeah, and then it was absolutely great. I say nothing but good things about it when people ask, and I would do something like that 100 times over.
What’s something that you’re proud of that people might not see or know?
Alyssa: Being able to leave my hometown and start over somewhere else and being so successful in my own right, I think that’s absolutely amazing. Cause a lot of people don’t agree. They’re like, “Oh, why would you go there?” “Why would you do this?” I’m like, “I left a place that was dark gray, and you people are all in the same place, same neighborhood they grew up.” That’s not living. That’s boring, and it will catch up to people eventually, and they’re going to say, “I wish I took the jump.” You know, I moved to Vegas with no job, broke, and I just jumped, and I didn’t know where I was going to land … but I think that’s a huge success in its own right.
What gave you the courage to leave your hometown? What was the final straw that you were like, “You know what? I am going to follow my dreams.”
Alyssa: The enticing life of the person I was with at the time. I was kind of like, “Ok, I can do this. I have a reason now. It’s time.” It was like, that’s my reason to go. I was looking for one, and it wasn’t the best one, but it worked out in the end.
It was your out.
Alyssa: It was my out, and I took it, really fucking quick. [laughs]
[laughs] I don’t blame you! How do you define fulfillment?
Alyssa: I think being undeniably happy. Like, no matter what it is in the moment, or time in your life, I think that’s fulfillment.
What makes you undeniably happy?
Alyssa: Just being able to go home, and go to sleep in my own bed, in my own house and having no worries in that moment. That’s fucking great. That’s priceless.
Some people have to take drugs to do all that.
Alyssa: [laughs] Exactly.
[laughs] I love it! Ok, what’s some of the best advice you’ve ever gotten?
Alyssa: “Don’t give a fuck about what anyone thinks.” [laughs] or like 85-year-old woman, she goes, “Buy that dress! Go to that country! Take the vacation! Go! Money will come back. Time won’t.”
Oooh, that’s good. What’s the worst piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Alyssa: People will say, “Oh, think about the pros and the cons,” but I think overthinking can literally kill you. Not everything is going to be easy. Even if you’re scared, just fucking do it.
Where would you like to be in five years?
Alyssa: [sighs] If only I had a simple answer for that. … To be determined? I would like to have my own business of some sort. I’d like to be out of the pool industry, the nightlife industry. I think it’s time at that point. I can’t do it forever. I think just be really self-sufficient within my own income and my own business somehow. Am I sure where that’s going right now? No. But I think that’s kind of where I’m at, ‘cause I feel like I don’t fit well within the lines of typical jobs, and I don’t want to be confined to that.
If you started a business, what kind of business could you see yourself getting into?
Alyssa: I’m definitely huge into skincare. I’ve been working on making my own magnesium body butters, and kind of dabbling into making some natural, women-owned, all-natural, and for super-dry-skin. Moving to Vegas, my skin changed … really crazy … like, it’s dry as hell, and then I’m like a pale, dry individual…. So, I think that’s kind of where I’m headed. …
I think that’s so smart.
