Some people just seem to enjoy life more than regular folks. Of course that makes being around these people great fun for we mere mortals. Not only that, but if you read all the way to the end, you can see how you might bring Sophi into your own life. Fair warning: You might need a seat belt on your chair.

A Sophi Summers Conversation

I’m sitting here with Pet of the Month, Sophi Summers! First, I want to know, what are these rings?

Sophi: Yeah! [laughs] That’s super funny. I mean each one just kind of has different meanings. This one, I got in Bali. I went to an elephant sanctuary. It was super amazing. It was the coolest thing I’ve ever done. It was one of those sanctuaries where they actually take care of the elephants, so we got to feed them. We were able to ride them, which I was a little bit skeptical on. I didn’t want it to be one of those situations, but after talking to all the workers and everything, they’re like “No, we actually take care of them. We love them.” The elephant was basically pulling you on. It’s crazy. They love to play. It’s super cute. This one, I got in Venice. It’s actually hand blown by a Venetian glass artist. Really cool. They actually start doing this type of job whenever they’re like eight years old. They start apprenticing, and it takes like 20-25 years to actually be able to actually start blowing your own glass. So, this one’s hand blown. And then, just Dior for the others.

Oh, just Dior. Oh, excuse me. [laughs]

Sophi: Those ones are basic. [laughs]

So, this is your first AVN, right?

Sophi: It is! Yeah!

Tell me about your experience so far.

Sophi: Well, I honestly just got my pass. [laughs] So, I haven’t got to see too much, but it’s been really cool. I mean just even walking around … you’re seeing all the girls on the walls, you’re seeing all the girls walking around. It seems really, really cool. I’m excited to go and check everything out while I’m here.

And then, you were at Top Golf last night with us.

Sophi: Yeah, it was super fun! You know I love hanging out with you guys. It was an absolute blast. I met tons of new people, so that was really, really cool, and I love playing Top Golf, not going to lie. We literally just did it, like last week so — [laughs].

Oh my god, I love golf. Ok, let’s get started. How do you define success in your career? Is it financial, creative, personal, or something else entirely?

Sophi:Wow, I would say it’s kind of a combination. Honestly, I don’t think I could really choose one. I mean, this was obviously not a route that I thought I was kind of going to go down. I was going way towards more of a corporate route originally, and then COVID-19 happened and everything kind of hit the fan. I think that everyone kind of changed their mindsets when COVID happened. And yeah, it just really fell in my lap. I guess I would say, honestly, I mean obviously the money. The money’s great, but the money doesn’t make everything, right? Like you kind of have to have something else that pushes you to do that. I love growing as a person and seeing how open people are. I can say it definitely opened up my mindset. You know what I mean? I used to be a little bit … I don’t want to say like, prude, but I was a little bit more—

Introverted?

Sophi: Introverted. Yeah, I was more introverted. I was way more to myself. I definitely wasn’t as fun in the bedroom. [laughs] So, it’s definitely opened up my eyes to a lot of different things, made me way more comfortable with things, which I also think has kind of opened me up personally too — to be able to go out and talk to people. I used to be really, really shy. I’m still super shy. Obviously, it’s still hard for me to go into crowds and things like that, but it’s definitely helped me a lot in that regard as well.

Great answer. What’s your creative process when preparing for a shoot, or creating new content?

Sophi: Honestly, I tend to go through what other people are doing, and then I kind of see how I can kind of put my spin on it. You probably noticed, I do have quite a lot of personality. I’m very loud. I’m very dramatic, so I like to put my own kind of spin on things. I’m quite funny. I’m a little witty and a little awkward, which I think is kind of like what works for me. I think that’s like my little niche that I have, you know? So, I would say that doing all of those things kind of combined has really created this awesome brand for me. Honestly, I’ve never really had a brand before I started doing this, so, I’m finding it really cool. I’ve kind of come into myself as I’ve started doing this. I don’t even think I really knew who I was before I started doing this in a way.

Isn’t that amazing?

Sophi: It’s kind of weird. Whenever you actually think about it out loud … like I look back to my past life, and I’m like “Who is that person?” ‘cause I hated what I was doing. I was miserable in my job. I was so upset, but I just didn’t really know which route I needed to go, so it’s really cool that I ended up here.

Well, we’re happy that you’re here! What is one misconception about your profession that you wish people would know?

Sophi: Oh, there’s lots of those.

Tell me some.

Sophi: I mean, first I would say, like, we don’t just, like, hook up with anybody, right? It’s a very safe space. Everyone is obviously very safe. Everyone’s tested. Everyone is very open. Like, we double-check like “Hey, are you comfortable with this?” “Are you comfortable with this?” before you go into a scene. It’s not like you just go and attack everybody. I feel like that’s like a really big misconception in porn, that we just go and just hook up and that’s kind of how it is. No, it’s a very, very, very safe space, and that’s a part that I really love, and it’s very open, like you don’t have to be so down on yourself about being sexual and your sexuality. I was always like a bartender in strip clubs — stuff like that — and even saying that “I worked in a strip club six years ago,” people would be like “[gasp] Oh my gosh!” like “Ewww!”

Like “Ooo, that’s disgusting”, but now, it’s like people high five me! They’re like “Wow, that’s really awesome!” It’s a very different world that we live in, from even five years ago. Very, very, very different.

100%. What has been one of the biggest challenges that you’ve faced in your career, and how did you overcome it?

Sophi: One of my biggest challenges, I guess, would have been, kind of leaving my old agency and doing my own thing. That made it really difficult. The guy that had started me into all of this, he was very controlling, and he really hammered his control into your head. He basically put you in handcuffs; that’s really how it felt. I was very scared to reach out to him for literally anything. I was scared to leave the partnership. I was scared to do anything to be honest, so it was really difficult for me. It’s hard for me to have those types of conversations anyway. I’m already a shy person, let alone putting in “Hey, I’m leaving your company. I’m going to go do my own thing.” So that was really scary, because obviously I was with him for almost two years. He basically made me, you know what I mean? He brought me up from where I was. I had nothing before that. I had no idea what I was doing. So that part was really, really scary, but once I got out it was the best decision that I ever made! Oh my gosh! I didn’t even realize, like, how much I was honestly getting screwed over. They were just pocketing my money. It was just another guy taking money from a girl. And once I realized, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero I was giving him, I was like “Wow! I cannot believe how much money I gave this man for what I was actually given.” It was really, really terrible, but to be honest, I was like, “You know what, I paid my dues. I did my time. Everyone has to.” So, I paid my dues … I did my time … I’m glad it’s over, and now we’re here. [laughs]

Great answer! Can you share an experience or a person who had a profound impact on your career?

Sophi: Oh … Wow … I would say honestly, on my career now, I would say Penthouse!

Penthouse?!

Sophi: Yeah! [laughs]

Oh my god!

Sophi: Honestly, I’ve never done anything like this, ever! I’ve never done any type of magazine. I mean, I’m only on OnlyFans right now. I don’t do any type of socials, yet. I’m now finally starting them up. So, doing only OnlyFans, it’s a very different type, right? I was basically just going live. I wasn’t really known. I really didn’t even know what was going on, who was who, what was what, and I did that for four years. And then last year, I heard about Penthouse, and I’m like, “Wow”. I mean, I knew what Penthouse was. I just had never even thought that that would be an option for me, I guess, just because I was kind of a nobody on social media’s side. On OnlyFans, obviously, I have lots of fans. I’m known over there, but that’s kind of — very different. So, that was really, really cool, but Yeah, I would definitely say once I got, the Penthouse shoot, I was like, “Ok, great! This is an awesome brand! This is going to be fantastic! This is going to really push my career forward.” The magazine was just impeccable!

Wow … Thank you

What habits or routines help you stay productive and focused?

Sophi: Oooh … so, definitely the gym. [laughs] I have to stick to the gym. I’m pretty bad about it, honestly. I have my off-days, my on-days, but I have to stick to the gym. That’s definitely for sure. A really good habit, I would say, that I have is setting alarms, setting reminders. I’m very forgetful, as obviously I just forgot a question, like 5 seconds ago.

[laughs] I know! I’m the same way!

Sophi: My brain will start just trickling into like ten different things, so then I have to like … “Ok … Focus, here we go” so reminders definitely help me … setting alarms, otherwise I think I’d be lost. If I didn’t have the calendar, I would have no idea what’s going on. [laughs]

I’m the same way. I have to write everything down.

Sophi: 100%.

I have to have lists and lists and lists. How do you handle criticism, both constructive and negative?

Sophi: So, I have had criticism my entire life. So, for me, honestly, at this point I could not care less. I kind of just brush it off. Move on. Whatever. If you don’t like me, that’s ok. That’s perfectly fine. Everybody has their own taste, so I don’t really take it too personally. If it comes to something about myself, you know, then I’m going to take that in, and I’m going to be like “Ok, is that true? What do I need to adjust?” I do take time to actually think about what’s going on, but if somebody is just like, “Oh, I don’t like your nose or your face,” I’m like, “Whatever, man. I don’t care”. [laughs]

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about your upbringing, or your early life?

Sophi: I think they would be surprised that I was raised in West Virginia. Not many girls, I think, like me come from there. I don’t even know if anyone comes from there that does this to be honest. [laughs] Yeah, it’s a really small town, obviously, people think like rinky-dink little country town. Luckily, I was from the college town, so I wasn’t like totally stranded in the middle of nowhere. So that was really cool. But, yeah, I would say definitely that. I mean I was raised with like a very farmland — we had cows and chickens and that type of stuff. It’s a little weird when you look at me now — [laughs] living in Miami [laughs] but here we are.

I love it. How do you stay creatively or intellectually stimulated in your work?

Sophi: So, I love to read, and I read all types of books. And then, with the actual job itself, I definitely try to keep up on just girls. I try to keep up with the trends, with who’s going on, what’s happening, what are we doing, what’s next. It’s definitely constantly changing, which is very stressful. Like I said, being on the OnlyFans side is very different. Now I’m basically hitting a whole new market. So, I’ve been more than a little overwhelmed. Honestly, the past two days have been like “Phew! Wow, I have so much work to do.” It’s crazy now that I’m starting socials basically from the ground up, but it’s been really, really cool. I mean OnlyFans was obviously different. You kind of adjust depending on how OnlyFans adjusts, right? OnlyFans changes, they make all these new rules, and you have to adjust. It’s just the way that it is. When I first started, you could get away with basically anything. Now, I mean, oh my goodness … the amount of restrictions is insane. So, you really have to keep up with the times, otherwise you’re going to get left behind.

Ok, last question. What’s a guilty pleasure or something that you do for fun that people would not expect?

Sophi: Hmm … What do I like to do that’s weird? So I’m big into rock and roll, and dubstep, and really heavy metal. I’m really into screamo music actually, too. I really like super hardcore, rock and roll, go balls-to-the-wall, that’s what I am. I’m super excited, yeah. I’m going to Rockville, and everything. Yeah, that’s my whole jam.

Interestingly enough, a group of fun folks have been putting together a nifty one of those AI friends sites using actual Penthouse Pets as your companion. Wouldn’t you know they chose Sophi here to debut as they build out around her, so you can actually visit — as far as we know — PenthousePets.com and crank it up with Sophie her virtual self. (We meant crank up the friendship, of course.) … Sophi does have Instagram now too. And, obviously, Sophi has a second Instagram as well because — well, because it’s Sophi.
